This basic philosophy course will introduce students to the terminology of knowledge by asking the question, 鈥淗ow do we know things?鈥, 鈥淚s morality universal?鈥, and 鈥淲hat does it mean to exist?鈥 After exploring different areas of knowledge, we will look at ways of knowing, their weaknesses and strengths. Units may deal with such topics as Eastern philosophy, Western philosophy, Skepticism, Existentialism, Facts & Evidence and Theories of Truth. We will compare philosophies through writing evidence-based essays and hold deep thinking, theoretical discussions. Students will be asked to listen, discuss and read a variety of philosophical theories.听
