91福利社 Athletic Department Philosophy
The 91福利社 Athletic Department recognizes extra-curricular opportunities as a way to stimulate intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth outside of the classroom walls.
Our programs encourage a team-building approach that emphasizes leadership, commitment, excellence, and communication.
Our goal is to foster a positive student-athlete culture on campus through collaboration with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration to ensure student-athletes remain academically focused at the same time that they are engaged in a dynamic, challenging, and safe learning environment. 听
Chiang Mai Athletic Conference (CMAC)
91福利社 is a founding member of the Chiang Mai Athletic Conference (CMAC).
Events for most programs consist of competitions and tournaments with CMAC schools. 听Some teams also take part in competitions and tournaments with non-CMAC schools.
Auditing and Home Schooled Student Participation
In order to participate in extracurricular activities at 91福利社, students need to be enrolled and attending class as a full-time student or an auditing student. 听Therefore, if auditing a course is an option you would like to consider, please contact the Admissions Officer via email at <admissions@cmis.ac.th>.
Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation
All students participating in 91福利社 Athletics will be required to receive a physical exam by a medical doctor. 听The required Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation form is available at the school website and the 91福利社 Athletics blog.
Codes of Conduct
The purpose of these Codes of Conduct is to provide guidelines, in accordance with the Chiang Mai Athletic Conference (CMAC) and Chiang Mai International School (91福利社) mission statements, for how individuals are expected to behave when participating in 91福利社 Athletics.
Student-athletes must
- Observe all school rules and policies, including but not limited to: Student Code of Conduct, Anti-Bullying Policy, Internet Acceptable Use Policy (IAUP), Email Acceptable Use Policy (EAUP), Academic Dishonesty Policy, Dress Code, and Substance Policy;
- Maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA based on the most recent reporting period;
- Fail no classes in the most recent quarterly reporting period;
- Attend at least 3 scheduled classes in order to participate in practice and competition on that day, unless the absence is 鈥渟chool related鈥 or due to a verified medical appointment;
- Refrain from unlawful use of, possession of, purchase of, or trafficking in illegal drugs, prescription drugs, tobacco, alcohol, or any other dangerous drug at all times;
- Attend all practices and competitions or provide their coaches with adequate notice if absent;
- Attend all games wearing the official team uniform;
- Listen to coaches at all times;
- Treat all other student-athletes, coaches, referees, and spectators with respect, regardless of their school, ability, religion, gender, or ethnicity;
- Pplay hard, but fair, and always demonstrate good sportsmanship towards the opposition;
- Win with grace and accept defeat with dignity; and
- Remember that sporting events are for the fun and enjoyment of all.
Coaches must
- Place the emotional and physical well-being of their players ahead of a personal desire to win the game;
- Treat each player as an individual, remembering that within a team there is a large range of skills and experience;
- Do their best to provide a safe playing environment for all players;
- Do their best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for players;
- Lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship;
- Encourage an athletic environment that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and personally refrain from their use at all school events;
- Remember that the game is primarily for the students, and not for adults;
- Treat other coaches, student-athletes, referees, and spectators with respect regardless of their school, ability, religion, gender, or ethnicity, and encourage all student-athletes to do the same;
- Be knowledgeable about the rules of the sport they coach, and teach those rules to all their players;
- Treat referees and officials with respect at all times; and
- Remove from competition any student-athlete, regardless of skill, who does not follow the 91福利社 Athletics Student-athletes鈥 Code of Conduct.
Spectators must
- Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players involved in competition;
- Place the emotional and physical well-being of any player ahead of a personal desire to win;
- Insist that student-athletes play in a safe and healthy environment;
- Support coaches and officials working with any player in order to encourage an enjoyable and positive experience for all;
- Encourage an athletic environment that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and to refrain from their use at all school events;
- Remember that the game is primarily for the students, and not for adults; and
- Treat other spectators, student-athletes, coaches, and referees with respect regardless of their school, ability, religion, gender, or ethnicity, and encourage all student-athletes to do the same.
Athletic Disciplinary Procedures
Student-athletes need to be aware that their academic performance and their personal conduct will affect their participation in 91福利社 Athletics. 听Any student who is on behavioral or academic probation will not be eligible for competitions for the duration of the suspension or probation.
It is expected that all student-athletes representing 91福利社 will abide by the Student-athletes鈥 Code of Conduct. 听Any breaches of this code of conduct will result in disciplinary action that aligns with the 91福利社 Student Discipline Policy. 听For incidents of a minor 听nature, coaches will be responsible for taking appropriate disciplinary action. 听For repeated minor incidents, coaches will remove the student-athlete from practice or competition and report to the Athletic Director. 听The Athletic Director will interview the student-athlete in the presence of the coach to determine whether any additional disciplinary action is necessary. 听For incidents of a serious nature, coaches will immediately inform the Athletic Director, who will evaluate the situation and determine appropriate disciplinary action that aligns with the 91福利社 Student Discipline Policy. 听The Athletic Director may also choose to impose a ban on the student-athlete鈥檚 participation in 91福利社 Athletics. 听The duration of such a ban is at the discretion of the Athletic Director.
This disciplinary action will be recorded on the athlete鈥檚 file, and will be reported to the Superintendent. 听Any actions of a serious nature that bring into disrepute the name of Chiang Mai International School will be brought immediately to the attention of the school administration. 听Such incidents will result in the athlete鈥檚 temporary or permanent removal from 91福利社 Athletics, and may also jeopardize the student鈥檚 continued enrollment at 91福利社.
